Protection for generative AI use in your company
Your team already uses tools like ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot, often with personal accounts. Forte Security manages Acronis GenAI Protection to show which AIs are used and by whom, block personal and confidential data before it leaves the company and record evidence for the LGPD.
The goal is not to slow down the productivity AI brought to daily work. It is to let people keep using these tools with clear rules, technical controls and follow-up from a specialized team, serving all of Brazil from Santa Maria/RS.
What is Shadow AI
Shadow AI is the use of generative AI tools without IT knowledge or approval. An employee pastes a customer spreadsheet into ChatGPT to summarize it, or a contract into Gemini to review it, and that data leaves the company. Since it is legitimate web traffic, antivirus and firewall raise no alert: IT simply cannot see it.
The risks are real. Personal data of customers and employees may be sent to external services without legal basis or retention control. Trade secrets such as proposals, prices, source code and strategy may be stored outside the company. Under the LGPD the company remains responsible for that processing, and without a record of what was sent it is hard to prove security measures existed or to answer a data subject or the ANPD.
What the solution delivers
Forte deploys, configures and monitors Acronis GenAI Protection in your environment. You gain control over AI use without building a dedicated team.
Visibility of AI use
Shows which generative AI tools are used, by which employees and how often. It is the starting point to decide what to approve, what to restrict and where to guide teams.
Sensitive data blocking
Detects and blocks personal IDs (CPF), customer data, card numbers and passwords before they reach the AI tool. The employee is warned on the spot, which also works as practical guidance.
Malicious prompt detection
Recognizes malicious prompts and AI manipulation attempts that may be used to extract information or bypass company rules.
Logs, policy and reports
Records events, enforces the approved usage policy and produces periodic reports, giving evidence of control for audits, customer assessments and LGPD requests.
Safe AI starts with governance
A tool alone does not solve it. For AI use to be safe, the company must decide which tools are approved, for which purposes and with which types of data. Those decisions are recorded in an AI usage policy everyone knows.
Forte supports this step together with the privacy team, connecting policy to technical controls. What the policy says is what Acronis GenAI Protection enforces, and reports show whether the rules are being followed.
Over time, usage reports also support better decisions. If an unapproved tool shows up often, it may point to a real team need that deserves a safe alternative. If a data type is blocked many times, training for that area should be reinforced. Governance stops being a static document and follows how the company actually works, with support from the Forte team.
- Generative AI usage policy
- Approved tools and allowed purposes
- Employee training and awareness
- Periodic review based on usage reports
Frequently asked questions
What is Shadow AI?+
It is the use of generative AI tools without IT knowledge or approval. Since it happens in the browser over legitimate web traffic, antivirus and firewall raise no alert and the company does not know which data is being sent.
Do I need to ban ChatGPT in the company?+
No. Banning usually pushes use to personal accounts, which are even less visible. The path is to approve tools, define a usage policy and control what leaves the company, blocking personal and confidential data.
Does using AI with customer data breach the LGPD?+
It can, if there is no legal basis and no adequate security measures. The LGPD requires technical and administrative measures to protect personal data, which includes controlling what is sent to external tools.
Which AI tools does the solution monitor?+
The main generative AIs used in the browser, such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot. The full list is confirmed in the assessment, according to your environment.
